Close-Up Views of Flash Evaporator Parts |
View of the hand-held mahogany air heater on its
brass base, with stem shown in its holder. The green LED, in the
fore-part of the base, is OFF; if it were ON it would be
dazzlingly bright, even in daylight. Click on the picture
for a larger view.
The mahogany air heater, about to receive the
loaded stem. (During use, the heater is lifted from the base,
giving the use complete freedom to move about.)
View of the top of hand-held air heater, showing
annular air inlet around "hot receptacle" inside mahogany heater.
(Sorry, there is no larger view of this photo.)
The brass stem holder also works as a heat sink,
for rapid cooling of the stem's tip. A brass pick, for removing
used stuff (which sometimes gets lodged in the stem's tip), comes
with the brass stem holder.
The brass base, with the mahogany heater removed
from it, showing mahogany "seat." The slotted screws make
electrical contact with the two brass contacts in the bottom of
the hand-held heater (next photo).
View of bottom of mahogany heater, showing two
brass electrical contacts that touch any two of the three
electrodes in the base (shown above) when the mahogany heater
sits on the base. (The latest Flash Evaporators do not have the
three screws.)
